FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.  Is your product slick when wet?
No, surprisingly the plastic boards have a considerable amount of traction and even more so when wet.  However, if there is snow on the deck, the snow is slippery.

2.  Does it need painting?
No, the board is colored all the way through.  The coloring process has UV Stabilizer which keeps the boards from fading in the sun.  *slight amount of patina may occur after approximately 10 years.

3.  How long does it last?
Decades.  Our boards are made from 100% recycled plastic.  Plastic lumber is perfect for any application because it will not rot, peel, crack, warp, splinter or be affected by insects or termites.

4.  What is the difference between composite decking and 100% plastic decking?
Wood swells in the water.  Our boards have no wood filler and are not water soluble.  Plastic and wood cannot create the tight bond that we do with 100% plastic.  Wood is susceptible to mold and insects and will fade and stain.  Our boards are easy to maintain with simply washing with your hose.

5.  Is plastic as strong as wood?
Yes, plastic is stronger than wood. Plastic and wood are two totally different substances.  They react in different ways.  Plastic has a different kind of strength. Plastic may bend slightly under extreme weight but will not break.  Depending on the application, the plastic needs to be uniquely supported.  Contact us for more information.

6.  Is it more expensive than wood?
The initial cost of plastic is higher than wood but if you average out the maintenance costs of wood, including sanding, staining, and weatherproofing each year, plastic is a much cheaper alternative.

7.  What type of tools do I need?

The same standard tools used for woodworking can be used for plastic.
